Life as a Navy Wife

Sailor Says
Ever heard your sailor say something that you didn't quite get? There's so many acronyms and different words or phrases out there that our beloved sailors say on a daily basis. Here's a cheat sheet to what these all mean.
Sh*t Sailors Say
Here's a funny little YouTube video with some of my favorite Salors Say moments. Enjoy!
Scuttlebutt...?
Yeah, you read that right. If you ever hear your sailor say this he/she is not talking about the rear-end of a bird. In fact, he/she is referring to a water fountian.
According to the glossary of Navy terms, this can also be generally reliable but incomplete information about a subject or a rumor (because rumors are spread when crew members gather around water fountains).
Alfa, Bravo, Charlie - what?
By now, we all know our ABC's and perhaps you even sang the song in your head just now, but the military has a whole new alphabet for you and your SO to learn. Click here for a look at the alphabet.
Head?
Head. This one is pretty interesting. Head is the bathroom. More specifically, the toilet area. Hopefully, your SO doesn't have to clean the head.
Bonus: Head up. This is when someone leaves the boat toilet seat up. When boat skipper is female, leaving the head up is a serious offence.
SO and milso
Both of these mean the same thing. They are acronyms for Military Significant Other or Spouse. If you have a signifcant other in the military, this is you. There's some groups out there for support both online and in person. If you're having any issues, these men and women can be your best friends.
